There is a lot of magnificent American contemporary, creative jazz, that makes it impossible to collect all that fabulous music here. One Response to Jazz America

  1. Stephanie says:

Theo, have you heard of Thomas Chapin, alto sax and flautist, 80s and 90s in NYC, until he passed at age 40 in 1998. He played with Zorn, Zorn played at his memorial service. And said of Chapin: Tom Chapin was the real deal. A complete musician in every sense, he created work that was honest, imaginative, well crafted and cathartic. Putting himself into each and every note, he played with a rare and intense passion. His energy was absolutely astounding. He is sorely missed.

Before his passing, he was playing on the big jazz stages in Europe with his Thomas Chapin Trio.
I am making a film of his life and music. In the research phase. thanks for your blog and comments on boards.
